Help for Print Driver Headaches
Two new software drivers for printers and multifunction products (MFPs) promise to make life easier for solution providers and their clients.
First, Xerox’s Mobile Express Driver can help customers who travel with their laptops and frequently find themselves frustrated by not being able to easily connect with the printers or MFPs they encounter.
The driver, which is downloadable for free at www.xerox.com/mobile, works with any vendor’s printing hardware and shows end users all available printing devices once the mobile computer plugs into the local network. Users select a printer and the driver automatically makes the connection. The driver’s popup screen also shows the printing and imaging features available on the selected device, such as two-sided printing or scanning capabilities.
Secondly, the companion Global Print Driver, for Windows XP and Vista, eases headaches for solution providers that administer printing infrastructures by allowing them to easily add new printers and MFPs to an organization's network. Instead of installing separate print drivers for every device, the global driver bundles all the capabilities of various devices into one package. Also available free of charge, the global driver supports both Xerox and non-Xerox networked products that use standard PostScript, PCL 5 and PCL 6.
Download the software at www.xerox.com/global.
